University extension course in Introduction to Agro-Sciences

The University Center of Patos de Minas (UNIPAM), through its legal representative, the Daniel Franco Institute (IDF), launched a short university extension course on Introduction to Agricultural Sciences in the second semester of 2023 for students from Panama and the Dominican Republic. The three-month course, which began in September 2023, is entirely taught in Spanish and benefits 22 students from both countries.

The program's goal is to provide technical training and education to all students and professionals interested in the fundamental principles of agronomic and veterinary sciences. Its teaching and learning methodology combines theoretical instruction with practical activities, which constitute the majority of the course hours. By the end of the course, participants will be capable of implementing and managing crop systems, as well as caring for and working with animals.
